Glendale has many colleges and universities in its vicinity. Glendale Community College was opened in 1965 and enrols over 40,000 students. Arizona State University West has 8,100 students and offers 38 degree programs. Midwestern University is a private graduate school of medicine and has multiple campuses. There are many other colleges, universities, and graduate schools to choose from in Glendale.
Glendale is served by multiple school districts. There are three unified school districts (the Deer Valley Unified School District, the Dysart Unified School District, and the Peoria Unified School District, four elementary school districts the Alhambra Elementary School District, the Glendale Elementary School District, the Pendergast Elementary School District, and the Washington Elementary School District, and three high school districts the Glendale Union High School District, the Phoenix Union High School District, and the Tolleson Union High School District.
There are many private schools in Glendale as well.
